Holiday Fundraiser planned for November 2011

2011: Holiday Drive

As you may know, sadly there is a significant problem of farmers committing suicide in India. To what extent government-promised subsidies which were not delivered have played a role in this dilemma continues to be a topic of research.

This holiday season, you have an opportunity to support the family members that are left behind. There are children who have lost their fathers to suicide, losing the head of household and often the only source of revenue. Now, should these kids continue school or manage the farm to bring an income?

At RVPCO, instead of researching the underlying problem, advocating/lobbying, or discussing/debating, our goal is to support and nurture. Respected filmmaker Harpreet Kaur fromWashington DC spent significant time in India portraying many such suffering families in her documentary “A Little Revolution - A Story of Suicides and Dreams."

Our charitable project for this year arose from direct personal interaction with Harpreet Kaur.

The statistics are horrifying. For more information, feel free to check out:

Goal: A donation of $360 will support one family for a full year and encourage the children to stay in school. Since this amount may possibly be too much for you as an individual donor, we suggest that you respond with however much you would like to give and then we will create groups to total $360 to support one specific family. This way, your group will receive a picture and update on your specific sponsored family and anyone from your group may physically meet the family upon any possible visits to India.

Please join http://www.rvpco.com/Contact_Us.html     to help these families.

 Thanks for your support,
